REALIGNMENT GENERAL INFORMATION

• The purpose of league alignment is to place member schools into leagues in a manner that supports competitive equity, program stability, reasonable travel, and the overall needs of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. The process is designed to serve the collective good of member schools while promoting fair and balanced competition across the Section. Under the current procedure, Section staff will lead the realignment process using established criteria, clear timelines, and school-provided information. This model is intended to create an efficient, consistent, and professional process by reducing redundancy, limiting prolonged disputes, and providing schools with greater predictability.

• 06/05/26 - Realignment Data Form Sent to Schools
• 06/15/26 - Realignment Data Due From Schools
• 08/26/26 - Executive Committee Meeting
• 09/03/26 - Realignment Plan Presentation (online)
• 10/30/26 - Proposals Due From Schools
• 12/08/26 - Public Hearing (South)
• 12/09/26 - Public Hearing (North)
• 01/21/27 - Executive Committee Meeting
• 02/02/27 - Realignment Plan Finalized
• 02/08/27 - Realignment Plan Goes to Schools for a Vote
• 02/19/27 - Realignment Plan Vote by Schools Ends
